What Wins Do in +1 Hair Escape: Earning and Unlocking Hair

Wins are the +1 Hair Escape resource you collect as course trophies to unlock hair like Lava, Galaxy and Lightning. Learn how to earn and spend them.

Wins are +1 Hair Escape's unlock currency for hair styles. You raise your Wins tally by grabbing trophy pickups along the obstacle course, then spend it at the hair store back at spawn on new looks — officially including epic styles like Lava, Galaxy and Lightning. That hair-unlock sink is the only confirmed use for Wins.

What Wins actually are

The game's official how-to-play steps put it plainly: "Collect Wins to unlock epic hair like Lava, Galaxy and Lightning." So Wins are a collectible progression resource, not a score you accumulate for its own sake.

It helps to separate the two resources the game tracks:

  • Hair length is your tool. It grows +1 at a time (faster on treadmills), and longer hair is what lets you aim across giant gaps, zipline down your own strands and reach further platforms.
  • Wins are the reward. They don't make your hair longer or reach further — they buy new styles once you've collected enough.

How you earn Wins

The confirmed earning event is simple: trophy pickups placed at the end of obstacle stretches. The loop looks like this:

  1. Grow your hair — steadily by playing, or faster on treadmills — so it's long enough to reach the next platforms.
  2. Traverse the obstacle stretch, where a missed jump means falling and retrying.
  3. Grab the trophy waiting at the end to add to your Wins tally.

One recorded playthrough shows the pacing a new player can expect: the first trophy came into reach around level 10 (taking it also opened up hair changing, and the player's style switched to pink), another was collected around level 15, and later maps paid better — two trophies at once on the ice island, then five more in one haul. That same player set an explicit target of 10 wins for the emerald hair and hunted trophies across the ice obstacles until he hit it.

Trophies are the only earning method documented so far. That doesn't mean the game has no other Win sources — it just means nothing else has been confirmed. If you're still learning the movement itself, the how to play guide covers the basics, and the grow hair faster guide explains the treadmill side. Later trophy runs happen on the further worlds, which you can preview in the all worlds overview.

Where you spend Wins: the spawn hair store

Head back to spawn and you'll find every unlockable hair style on display right in front of you, with the hair store on the left side — sitting next to a trail shop and a rebirth shop. The display at spawn is where new looks get claimed: in the recorded session, the player finished the associated challenge once his count was high enough and took the new hair from there, keeping his earlier unlocks (the pink and purple styles) in use alongside it.

One playthrough produced this sequence of unlocks:

Count the player reachedWhat it unlocked
3rd trophySlime hair
5 trophiesThe next style in the lineup
10 winsEmerald hair

Treat those numbers as one player's observed session, not fixed prices. The game publishes no per-style costs, and a different session could pace differently.

What's still unconfirmed about Wins

A few things genuinely aren't documented yet, and they change how you should read your own counter:

  • Individual costs for Lava, Galaxy and Lightning. The official description names them as Wins-unlockable, but no prices anywhere state what each one takes.
  • Whether an unlock spends your Wins. No source shows whether claiming a hair subtracts from your tally or whether the 3/5/10-style thresholds are cumulative milestones on a permanent total. The only counts available come from players speaking them aloud — there's no documented description of the on-screen counter yet.
  • Whether Wins feed Rebirth. The rebirth shop exists at spawn, and one player mentioned needing "30" of something before his next rebirth without clearly naming the resource — so don't assume Wins are that cost.

Once you know the loop, the practical move is picking a target: the unlockable hair styles reference shows what's worth saving your Wins for.
