How to Play +1 Hair Escape: Beginner's First-Session Walkthrough
A beginner's walkthrough of +1 Hair Escape: grow hair +1 at a time on treadmills, aim and throw it across giant gaps, zipline onto anchors, then turn Wins and rebirth into faster growth.

+1 Hair Escape is a grow-then-escape game: you start with little or no hair, grow it +1 at a time — treadmills make it grow faster — and then use that hair as both your tool and your bridge. You aim it across giant gaps, throw it, and zipline down your own hair onto the anchors hanging above the drops. Clearing a challenge earns a Win, Wins unlock new hair styles, and rebirthing at a higher level grants boosts that speed everything up again. Here is what a first session actually looks like, in the order the game presents it.
What the game asks you to do
The developer's official how-to-play lays out the entire loop:
- Grow your hair +1 at a time, and train on treadmills to grow it even faster.
- Aim your hair across giant gaps to reach the next platform.
- Zipline down your own hair and hook onto anchors high above the drops.
- Escape through wild worlds: icy glaciers, Candyland, Neon Tokyo, Crystal Caverns and more.
- Collect Wins to unlock epic hair like Lava, Galaxy and Lightning.
- Rebirth for huge boosts, climb the leaderboards and flex the longest hair on the server.
One rule connects all six lines: your hair length is your reach. The grown hair is what movement and stage progress depend on — you throw it into large gaps and ride it like a zipline toward the next platform — and one recorded player put it simply: the more you grow your hair, the farther you can get. Time on the treadmill is never just cosmetic; it extends how far your next throw can travel.
First steps: spawn, treadmill, grow
Recorded first sessions show a consistent opening sequence:
- You spawn with little or no hair. That is the intended starting point, not a problem to fix — growth is the first job.
- Step onto a treadmill. The first on-screen prompt tells you exactly that: "walk on to the treadmill to grow". Your hair then climbs +1 at a time, and your level rises with it.
- Keep growing until you can attempt the first challenge. Treadmills grow hair faster than roaming the spawn area, so they are the intended training spot before your first throw.
While you grow, look around: first-session recordings show hair-style displays, hair and trail shops, and a rebirth shop all visible before the first treadmill run. The world doors nearby stay locked at the start, and rebirth is visible long before it is usable — treat both as goals, not starting tools.
Crossing your first gap
The first gap is where +1 Hair Escape becomes a real obby. When your hair has some length:
- Aim your hair across the gap toward the next platform, where the anchors hang high above the drop.
- Throw it. Failed throws act as reach checks — one recorded player's early attempts end in "I can't reach", and in another session the first trophy attempt ends in a long fall.
- Ride it down. If the throw hooks, you zipline along your own hair to the far side.
One honest note on controls: the growth prompt is spelled out clearly on screen, but the exact wording of the throw and ride prompts was not captured cleanly in the available recordings. The game does display its own prompt when your hair is ready to use, so read and follow it at the gap edge rather than trying to memorize a specific button.
How much hair the first gap actually needs is not published anywhere — the game page itself poses it as an open question: "how long does YOUR hair need to be?" In one recorded first session, the player trained to roughly level 10, overshot the first trophy and fell, then made a slower, careful second attempt and landed the first Win. Expect that arc. The punishment for a mistake is also official: "One bad throw can drop you back to your last checkpoint." A fall rewinds your position rather than ending the run, so treat a wipeout as information about that gap's reach and take the careful second attempt instead of repeating a risky throw.

Wins, rebirth and what comes next
Wins are trophies from gap challenges. The official loop lists them as the path to epic hair, with Lava, Galaxy and Lightning confirmed by name. Exact unlock counts are less settled: in one recorded session the first trophy fell at the first challenge around level 10, three trophies were quoted for the next style, and the player later said he needed 10 Wins for an emerald one. Those are single-session numbers, not a published table — read the requirement off the hair style you want in game.
Rebirth is level-gated and visible from the very start. The rebirth shop sits at spawn before you can use it, which is why new players often find it confusing. The gate also moves: one session unlocked the first rebirth at level 15, while another needed 20 for the first and 30 for the next, so the requirement appears to climb as you go. Don't plan around a fixed number — check your rebirth UI for the current level requirement.
Why bother? The developer bills rebirth as the source of "huge boosts" plus leaderboard standing, and one recorded player reported growing faster right after his first rebirth. That closes the loop the game is built around: grow → throw → Win → rebirth → grow faster.
The worlds are the backdrop for all of it — icy glaciers, Candyland, Neon Tokyo and Crystal Caverns are confirmed by name, with more beyond them. The world doors at spawn are locked at first, so treat the early game as pure treadmill growth and first-gap practice.
